South African Adventure Holiday & Project

Reminiscing on my South Africa trip to Cape Town and Johannesburg March 2013.

Pierre Jourdan i believe was one of the best wine-lands along the garden route with delicious dessert wine : Pierre Jourdan 1694 Ratafia.
A Must to Try!!

During my trip away i was able to explore different parts of South Africa. Visiting wine-lands, shopping in Cape Town, sightseeing Table Mountain, Monte Casino, took Safari rides and engaged with African wildlife. Took in breath taking views of the coast to staying in luxurious hotels in Camps Bay.

My 21st birthday on the rooftop cocktail bar in J'burg.

Thankyou: Julie Morley
For making this completely edible and gorgeous birthday cake. As well as looking amazing it was yummy!

After a busy birthday me and my family took an amazing safari around Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

Taking a safari ride around Johannesburg Reserves was amazing! I encountered zebras walking alongside the jeep to Rhino's charging at the jeep which was quite funny.

Our tour guide driver was amazing in finding all of 'The Big Five' and explaining about the African animals and protecting them.

Above are just a few out of hundreds of photographs i took of the animals in the wild. Having the chance the play with the lion cubs and experience the animals running free in the wild was amazing. The journey inspired me to producing an interior collection based on my visit.

Although this photograph was not used within my research i absolutely love this bouquet and thought i would share the photograph to show you.

Here are a few of many sketchbook pages exploring markings and line quality with various types of media.

My end designs were for a three set cushion collection. I used the photocopier to enlarge and shrink drawings and play around with imagery to get the desired look i wanted. Above is just one of three designs which was digitally printed, hand painted back into and silver foiled in areas.
